
The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund in Dhaka and the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh have undertaken a joint partnership programme for social and behavioural change.
In this regard, a delegation of the UNICEF paid a courtesy call on the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh chairman Professor SMA Faiz at the UGC in Dhaka on Wednesday, said a press release on Thursday.
Under this joint partnership programme, conducting research on behavioural science in the country’s universities, along with fellowships on social and behavioural change, launch of short-term courses, policy and curriculum formulation, training, seminars and workshops will be organised, added the press release.
Expressing that the programme undertaken will help in increasing the capacity of university teachers on social and behavioural change, the UGC chairman assured full cooperation in implementing the proposed two-year programme.
The UGC members Professor Mohammad Tanzimuddin Khan and Professor Mohammad Anwar Hossen, and secretary Md Fakhrul Islam attended the meeting.
Led by the UNICEF Bangladesh SBC section head Bridget Job-Johnson, SBC programme manager Badrul Hasan attended the meeting.
