Gazipur Agricultural University鈥檚 fisheries faculty celebrated the National Fish Week 2025 through a series of vibrant events on the campus on Tuesday.聽
With the theme 鈥楲et鈥檚 create fish sanctuaries, enrich the nation with native fish鈥�, the day鈥檚 events included a colourful rally, poster exhibition, seminar and releasing fish fingerlings, said a press release.
The rally, led by GAU vice-chancellor Professor GKM Mustafizur Rahman, saw active participation from faculty members, students and staff.
Later, a seminar, presided over by fisheries faculty dean Professor Murshida Khan, was held where GAU VC, pro-vice-chancellor Professor M Moynul Haque and treasurer Professor Md Safiul Islam Afrad spoke.
The programme concluded with the symbolic release of various fingerlings, including Rui, Katla, Mrigal, and Sarputi into the campus reservoir.
