
A six-day faculty training workshop titled ‘Quality Assurance in the OBE Framework’ was successfully held at the campus of Bangladesh Army University of Engineering & Technology, organised by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell, says a press release.
The closing ceremony took place on Monday, July 14, at the university’s Skylight Hall, where the vice-chancellor, Brigadier General Md Mizanuzzaman, was present as the chief guest.
In his address, he stated, ‘Our syllabus has been updated in accordance with the latest BNQF policy guidelines. Through IQAC, we aim to ensure quality education. All necessary steps will be taken, including further training programmes.’
He reaffirmed BAUET’s commitment to delivering quality education and extended his sincere thanks to everyone involved in organising the workshop.
Also present at the event were BAUET treasurer Colonel, retd, Md Shawkat Hossain; controller of examinations Colonel, retd, Hla Han Maung; Registrar Lt Colonel, retd, KFA Sohel; dean of science and humanities faculty Professor Md Sazzad Hossain; dean of ECE and IQAC director Professor Mohammad Golam Sarwar Bhuiyan; along with department heads; the proctor; student welfare advisor; deputy registrar (Academic); and other faculty members were present.
The training covered a range of key topics such as Course Learning Outcomes (CLO), Programme Learning Mapping, Outcome-Based Question Preparation, KPI Setting, CQI Process, Evaluation Rubrics, and BNQF Domains.
A total of 115 faculty members from all departments participated in the workshop.
The event was moderated by the IQAC additional director and associate professor of English, Md Hamidur Rahman.
The IQAC director Professor Mohammad Golam Sarwar Bhuiyan delivered the welcome speech. Participants Apel Mahmud, lecturer, Department of ICE; and Hafizur Rahman, assistant professor, Department of Business Administration; shared their experiences on behalf of the trainees.
Certificates were distributed among participants and crests were awarded to the trainers by the vice-chancellor during the closing session.
