Bangladesh Medical University has appointed associate professor Dr Shakhawat Hossain as dean of the dentistry faculty.
Shakhawat Hossain is an associate professor in the department of oral and maxillofacial surgery at BMU, said a press release on Sunday.
The BMU has given Sakhawat the additional responsibility of serving as dean to facilitate the examinations and other urgent academic activities for the January-July session.
After obtaining his BDS degree from Dhaka Dental College in 2000, he earned his MS in oral and maxillofacial surgery from the BMU in 2007.聽
Shakhawat Hossain has presented several scientific research papers both at home and abroad. He also has more than 30 publications in nationl and international journals.
He is a life member of the Bangladesh Dental Society, Bangladesh Oral Cancer Society, Dhaka University Alumni Association and Doctors Association of Bangladesh.
