The final round and prize-giving ceremony of City Bank presents BUP IV Inter-Varsity Debate Competition was held at Bijay Auditorium of Bangladesh University of Professionals in Dhaka on Saturday.
The debate competition was organised by BUP Debate Club under the supervision of the department of public administration, and was started on May 23, said a press release on Saturday.
The competition was arranged in two phases, namely British Parliamentary Debate in English segment and British Parliamentary Debate in Bangla segment, featuring 128 participants from 64 teams of 30 universities of the country.
In the final round of the Bangla segment, team BUP B became the champion and team BUP 1 became the runner-up.
Additionally, in the final round of the British Parliamentary Debate in English segment, team BUP 1 became the champion and team BUP B became the runner-up.
In the closing and prize-giving ceremony, BUP pro-vice-chancellor Professor Khondoker Mokaddem Hossain was present as chief guest and distributed prizes among the winners.
