
Dhaka Bank PLC on Wednesday launched Bangladesh’s first AI-driven digital loan app for smartphones and smart devices aimed at making technology more affordable and accessible for service professionals, micro-entrepreneurs and underserved and unserved communities.
Managing director (current charge) AKM Shahnawaj and Samsung Electronics Bangladesh branch head Jungmin Jung launched the ‘Dhaka Bank e Rin Device APP’ with a grand ceremony, said a press release.
AKM Shahnawaj stated, ‘The eRin Device is more than just a loan — it is a gateway to digital empowerment, enabling connectivity, education, and entrepreneurship for the unbanked and underserved.’
Jungmin Jung noted that the collaboration removed barriers to traditional credit and the service would soon be available at selected Samsung authorised stores.
Bangladesh Bank Financial Inclusion Department director Md Iqbal Mohasin, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission commissioner Mahmud Hossain, Banglalink chief corporate and regulatory affairs officer Taimur Rahman, Excel Telecom Pvt Limited executive director Mohammad Syfuddin Tipu, Infinia Tech Limited managing director Sarwar Jahan Morshed, Dhaka Bank deputy managing director (operations) AMM Moyen Uddin, DMD Sheikh Abdul Bakir, DMD (CEMO) Md Mostaque Ahmed, DMD (corporate banking) Akhlaqur Rahman were present in the inauguration ceremony.
