
Janata Bank PLC on Thursday teamed up with fintech solutions provider SSL Wireless to introduce a new biller payment service through its internet banking platform and eJanata mobile app, said a press release.
With this service, Janata Bank customers will be able to settle a wide range of payments from their smartphones, including mobile top-up, education fees, ISP bills, utility payments such as BREB (prepaid) and BPDB (prepaid), bus ticket purchases and insurance premiums.
The signing ceremony was held at Janata Bank head office in the capital.
From Janata Bank, managing director Md Mazibur Rahman, deputy managing director Md Fayaz Alam, Md Nazrul Islam and Md Ashraful Alam were present.
Representing SSL Wireless, managing director Sayeeful Islam, chief executive officer Md Iftekhar Alam Ishaque and general manager Md Mohiuddin Tawfik attended the signing ceremony.
Speaking at the event, senior officials underscored the importance of the collaboration in advancing financial inclusion and digital banking in Bangladesh.
The partnership reflects Janata Bank’s commitment to modernising customer services and SSL Wireless’s mission to deliver secure, innovative payment solutions to financial institutions, the release said.
This joint initiative is expected to play a vital role in strengthening Bangladesh’s journey toward a cashless society, providing Janata Bank customers with greater convenience, flexibility and security in managing their financial transactions.
