 
                             The Bangladesh Archery Federation on Thursday announced a 16-member squad to compete in the men’s and women’s divisions of the 24th Asian Archery Championship, as the six-day-long competition is scheduled to begin at the National Stadium in Dhaka on November 8.
Bangladesh will host the event for the third time after 2017 and 2021, and over 200 archers from 34 countries from across Asia will take part in the championship, with the final two days to be held at the Bangladesh Army Stadium.
Bangladesh’s German coach Martin Frederick picked up Olympics 2024 participant Sagor Islam and Ety Khatun, who won three gold medals in the South Asian Games 2019 to become the first female athlete from Bangladesh to win as many golds in a single games, to compete in the men’s and women’s recurve events.
However, the two recurve division archers from Timor Leste have already arrived in the city on October 28 among the participating nations.Ìý
The two archers – Da Cruz Juan Paul Rogimus (recurve men) and Maia da Cruz Jenifer (recurve women) – started their training at the Bangladesh Archery Academy Ground of the Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Stadium in Tongi.
