The Rastra Sanskar Andolan has formally withdrawn from the six-party Ganatantra Mancha, leaving the platform with five remaining members amid widening disagreements over political positioning, relations with the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, and future electoral strategy.

Mancha leaders said the RSA now plans to form a new political alliance with the National Citizens Party and several other parties.

The decision followed a meeting of the Ganatantra Mancha on Monday night attended by Nagarik Oikya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Ganosamhati Andolan chief coordinator Zonayed Saki, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Rab) general secretary Shohid Uddin Mahmud Swopon, Bhasani Onusari Parishad chairman Sheikh Rafiqul Islam Bablu, Revolutionary Workers Party general secretary Saiful Haque, and RSA chief coordinator Hasnat Quiyum.

After lengthy discussions, the platform formally bade farewell to the RSA, according to leaders present.

A leader who attended the meeting, speaking on background, said the exit had created uncertainty over the alliance鈥檚 future, raising questions about how the five remaining parties would reposition themselves and whether they could maintain unity in the coming months.

RSA chief coordinator Hasnat Quiyum confirmed to 抖阴精品 that his party had left the platform, describing the decision as a straightforward political move. He said that although personal relations among the parties remained cordial, the alliance had failed to reach consensus on establishing an independent political line.

Given rising political risks and deepening polarisation, he said, an autonomous political force was necessary. He added that he had hoped the Mancha could assume that role, but strategic differences made it unattainable.

Revolutionary Workers Party general secretary Saiful Haque said the RSA鈥檚 withdrawal was also linked to deeper tensions involving the BNP.

He said a growing psychological distance had developed between the BNP and the Ganatantra Mancha due to disagreements over seat adjustments and weakening political understanding, which contributed to the RSA鈥檚 dissatisfaction.

Hasnat said the RSA was now in discussions with several parties, including the NCP, AB Party and Up Bangladesh, to form a new coalition committed to an independent political stance. Any such alliance, he said, would remain separate from both the BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami.

Bhasani Onusari Parishad chairman Sheikh Rafiqul Islam Bablu said the remaining five parties had yet to decide their collective political strategy. A meeting has been scheduled for November 27 to determine the next steps, he said.

Bablu added that the Mancha had not engaged with the BNP鈥檚 liaison committee for some time, reflecting a broader slowdown in political coordination.

The Ganatantra Mancha was formed on August 8, 2022.
