A fire broke out at a blanket warehouse on the fourth floor of a building in Chattogram鈥檚 Kadamtali area on Monday afternoon.

Fire service officials said no one was injured as there was none during the incident.

Chattogram Fire Service and Civil Defence officials said that the fire started at the five-storey building beside the Kadamtali Pora Masjid around 1:30pm. Six fire units rushed to the spot and three more units joined them later, bringing the total to nine.

Alamgir Hossain, deputy assistant director of the fire service in Chattogram, said the fire spread quickly because the warehouse was filled with blankets. It took nearly three hours to bring the fire under control, and the flames were finally contained around 4:30pm.

The fire service is yet to determine the cause of the fire or the extent of damage.
