
Health officials on Tuesday said at least one person died of dengue and 665 fresh cases were reported in the past 24 hours.
‘During the period, (of the 665) 135 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 79 in Chattogram division, 125 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 141 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 83 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 67 in Khulna division, 19 in Mymensingh division, 14 in Rangpur division and two in Sylhet division,’ a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.
Since the start of the dengue onslaughts in Bangladesh this year, 156 deaths have been witnessed so far,while the disease has afflicted 39,192.
Dengue in the past year claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in the country.
