The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit has instructed all banks to immediately provide account details and transaction records of three former Bangladesh Bank governors, four ex-deputy governors, and two former BFIU chiefs.
The intelligence unit on Wednesday issued letters to the banks seeking detailed banking transactions in their accounts.
The list includes former governors Atiur Rahman, Fazle Kabir and Abdur Rouf Talukder; former deputy governors SK Sur Chowdhury, SM Moniruzzaman, Kazi Sayedur Rahman and Abu Farah Md Nasser; and former BFIU heads Abu Hena Mohammad Razee Hassan and Md Masud Biswas.
The BFIU officials said that the request was made following a request of the Anti-Corruption Commission.
