Community Bank Bangladesh PLC has recently achieved the internationally recognised ISO 27001:2022 certificate, says a press release.
ISO 27001:2022 is the latest iteration of the globally recognised standard for information security management systems (ISMS).
The recertification audit was conducted by Intertek Bangladesh, accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), Standard reaffirming the bank’s continued commitment to maintaining the highest standards of Information Security Management Systems (ISMS).
To mark this achievement, a certificate handover ceremony was organised on Thursday at the bank’s Head Office.
Intertek Bangladesh senior manager – compliance, MM Murshed handed over the certificate to the bank’s Managing Director (Current Charge) Kimiwa Saddat.
This achievement underscores Community Bank’s dedication to ensuring confidentiality, integrity and availability of information across all digital and IT operational platforms.
It also reflects the Bank’s proactive approach in adapting to evolving cybersecurity threats, regulatory requirements, and technological advancements.
Managing sirector (Current Charge) Kimiwa Saddat stated, ‘Securing the ISO 27001:2022 certification reflects our strong commitment to safeguarding customer information and demonstrates our capability in delivering modern, secure banking services. This milestone will serve as a motivation for us to pursue further innovation and continuous improvement.’
The event was also attended by Md Tanjim Morshed Bhuiyan, CITO, head of DFS & deputy head of RMD; Md Ariful Islam, head of Corporate Banking and Head of Business (Branch); Md Mamun Ur Rahman, head of ADC & Head of MD’s Coordination Team; Nurul Islam Chowdhury, head of IT, Intertek South Asia; Farhad Ahmed, senior manager - System Certification, Intertek; Smitha Tumpa Baroi, assistant manager - Business Assurance, Intertek Bangladesh; and other senior officials from Community Bank were present at the ceremony.
