
Zarif Abrar of Cantonment Officers Tennis Club secured the men鈥檚 singles event title of the National Tennis Competition 2025 after 6-1, 6-3 sets win over Mahad Bin Malek of Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan in the final at the Ramna Tennis Complex in the city on Friday.
Sumiya Akter of Jhalokati Tennis Club won the women鈥檚 singles event title as she defeated Suborna Khatun of BKSP 6-0, 6-4 sets in the final of the event.
Rustom Ali and Milan Hossain pair of American Club clinched the men鈥檚 doubles event beating Zarif and Md Sayem pair by 7-6, 6-4 sets in the final.
In the women鈥檚 doubles event, Subarna Khatun and Jannatun Ferdous pair of BKSP emerged champions beating Sumaiya Akhter and Susmita Sen pair of Jhalokati TC by 5-7, 7-5, 10-7 sets .
A total of 165 competitors from 21 organisations, including club, school, and district teams, took part in the competition, organised by the Bangladesh Tennis Federation, split into four separate events鈥攎en鈥檚 and women鈥檚 singles and men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 doubles.
Bangladesh Tennis Federation president and Dhaka Bank Ltd chairman Abdul Hai Sarker distributed prizes among the winners as the chief guest in the closing ceremony of the six-day-long competition, which offered prize money of a Tk 3.35 lakh.
BTF vice-president Ashrafuzzaman Khan Puton, general secretary Ishtiaq Ahmed, and treasurer M A Jinnah were present on the occasion.
