
Bangladesh’s boys’ team has been eliminated from the semi-finals of the ITF World Junior Tennis Competition 2025 after suffering a 0-2 defeat to Hong Kong in Isa Town, Bahrain, on Friday.
In the semi-finals, Akash Hossain lost to Lok Chun Kiu with set scores of 7-5, 6-2, 6-1, while Khabbo Gayen faced a 6-2, 6-0 defeat against Choi Fu Wang in the boys’ singles event.
Earlier, Bangladesh advanced to the semi-finals by defeating the Philippines 2-0 in the quarter-finals on Thursday.
Akash secured victory over Krelz Jan Gecosala with set scores of 4-6, 3-6, and Khabbo triumphed against Anthony Bjorn Castigador with a 4-6, 2-6 win.
Hong Kong reached the semi-finals after a convincing 3-0 victory over Iraq.
A total of 21 countries, including Bangladesh, Bahrain, Guam, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and others, participated in this pre-qualifying round competition.
