
The Victory Day tennis tournament commenced at the National Tennis Complex at Ramna in the capital on Friday.
Organised by the Bangladesh Tennis Federation and sponsored by Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC, the eight-day tournament will be participated by a total of 210 players from Dhaka and other districts.
The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of the chief guest, Abdul Hai Sarkar, chairman of Purani Group and president of the Bangladesh Tennis Federation.
Mohammed Younus, vice-chairman of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC, and the bank鈥檚 managing director, Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, attended the opening ceremony as special guests.
Among others, the vice-president of the Bangladesh Tennis Federation, Ashrafuzzaman Khan, also president of Dhaka Club, and the federation鈥檚 general secretary, Ishtiaq Ahmed (Curren), spoke on the occasion, while other members of the executive committee of the federation attended the opening ceremony.
The tournament features events across multiple categories, including men鈥檚 singles, men鈥檚 doubles, women鈥檚 singles, women鈥檚 doubles, boys' singles (under-18), girls' singles (under-18), boys' singles (under-14), and girls' singles (under-14).
