Bangladesh Mime Federation and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Saturday jointly observed World Mime Day 2025 by organising a discussion and mime performance at Studio Theatre Hall of the BSA.
The day has been celebrated across the world on March 22 every year since 2011, the day of birth of legendary French mime artist Marcel Marceau.
Mime Federation secretary general Mahabub Alam delivered his welcome speech at the event while mime artistes Dhiman Saha Jewel, Zahid Repon and deputy director of BSA theatre and film department Jasim Uddin spoke at the event.
Noted mime artiste Dewan Mamun was attended the event chaired by acting president of the federation, Solaiman Mehdi.
After the discussion mime troupes including Mirror Mime Theatre, the Mummers, Shawan Mime Academy and Mime Troupe performed mime productions.
Theatre troupe Swapnadal also staged their acclaimed mimodrama titled Macbeth at the Experimental Theatre Hall of BSA to mark the day.
Besides, Chittagong-based mime troupe Silent Theatre observed World Mime Day in association with the BSA Chittagong district.
