Monir Hossain Jibon

Monir Hossain Jibon, the director of the ‘90s popular drama series ‘Aaj Robibar’, died on Thursday. He was 52.

Director’s Guild Bangladesh general secretary SM Kamruzzaman Sagar said that Monir Hossain passed away while undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Neurosciences Hospital in Agargaon. He was admitted to the hospital after he suffered a brain stroke at night.


Jibon’s body was kept on the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy premises in the morning where people from all walks of life paid their last respects to him.

Later, his body was taken to his hometown in Monohardi, Narsingdi.

He was laid to rest at his family graveyard at Monohardi after Asar prayers.

Monir Hossain was the vice-president of Director’s Guild Bangladesh.

Born on February 15, 1972, he worked as the assistant director in Humayun Ahmed’s film ‘Aguner Parashmoni’.

Monir Hossain founded his own production company titled Shadhin Cholochitro and produced many dramas, including Shada Kagoj, Korban Alir Qurban, Bonnyar Chokhe Jol and others.
