The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday held a meeting with officials of telecom operator Grameenphone about collaboration on financial literacy in the country.

The meeting was held in the commission building at Agargaon in the capital Dhaka, according to a press release issued by the BSEC.


BSEC chairman Khondoker Rashed Maqsood said, ‘As one of the largest mobile operators in the country, Grameenphone has the opportunity to communicate directly and quickly with people of all walks of life. Taking advantage of this opportunity, the BSEC and the Grameenphone will work together to spread financial literacy.’

BSEC commissioner Farzana Lalarukh, Grameenphone chief executive officer Yasir Azman, chief financial officer Otto Magne Risbakk and head of investor relations Chowdhury Tazrian Israt were present in the meeting.Â
