Leaders and activists of the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and its allies will announce protests, including an indefinite sit-in before chief adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus’ residence-cum-office Jamuna, after November 16 if their five-point demand was not met.
Leaders of the Jamaat and its allies took the decision at a meeting at the Jamaat’s Maghbazar central office on Wednesday.
Jamaat nayeb-e-amir Mujibur Rahman at the press conference announced that the protest programme would be declared if their demand was not accepted.
The five-point demand includes legal status for the July National Charter 2025, referendum before the Jatiya Sangsad elections, next JS polls in a proportional representation system, and a ban on the political activists of the Awami League-led alliance.
As part of the protests, Jamaat and allies leaders and activists will stay on the streets countywide on November 13 to resist the anarchy of fascist Awami League, activities of which are now banned.
They will also hold protest rallies on November 14, Friday, in all the districts and cities across the country to press their five-point demand.
The central leaders of the parties will hold a meeting on November 16 in Dhaka and after the meeting they would announce an indefinite sit-in before Jamuna from a press conference.
Jamaat secretary general Mia Muhammad Golam Parwar, Islami Andolan Bangladesh secretary general Yunus Ahmed, and others central leaders of the alliance attended the press conference.
