Leaders of the two factions of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal at separate discussions in Dhaka on Friday demanded democratic transition of country as early as possible.

They also called on the the interim government to hold the next general election in February.


Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-JSD organised a discussion at its central office at Gulistan, which was chaired by freedom fighter SM Anwar Hossain.

JSD general secretary Shahid Uddin Mahmod Shapon said that without holding the general election, democratic transition of the country would not be possible.

Central leaders of the party Kamal Uddin Patwory, Nurul Akter, Mosharraf Hossain Montu and others spoke at the discussion.

To mark the day, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-Jasod faction organised a separate discussion at the Colonel Taher Auditorium of its central office at Gulistan.

Chaired by executive president Robiul Islam, central leaders of the party Shafi Uddin Molla, Shaifuzzaman Badha and Monir Hossain spoke at the discussion.

Robiul Islam called on the interim government to hold next general election inclusively with the participation of all political parties.
