Two BNP activists were injured in a gun attack by unidentified assailants in Raozan upazila of Chattogram on Saturday. 

The injured were identified as Masud Parvez Roni, 36, son of former union parishad member Sirajul Islam, and Md Sagar, 33, son of certain Osman.


Both are reportedly supporters of former MP Ghulam Akbar Khondkar. They were admitted to a private hospital in Chattogram city for treatment.

On Saturday afternoon, the shooting took place in Ward 4 of Noapara union in Raozan upazila, said Mir Mahabubur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Raozan police station.

Local sources said the attackers, arriving in four CNG auto-rickshaws, opened fire and fled the scene. Roni sustained three gunshot wounds in one of his hands and a leg, while Sagar was shot in the thigh.

OC Mahabubur Rahman said, ‘Two people were injured in the shooting at Noapara union. No case has been filed yet. But the victims’ families are expected to press charges. We are taking necessary steps.’
