The 11th edition of Chobi Mela, an international photography festival, has announced an open call for its Fellowship Programme 2026.
The event, organised by Pathshala South Asian Media Institute and Drik Picture Library Ltd, will take place from February 12 to February 21 at Drikpath Bhaban on Panthapath in Dhaka, according to a press release.
The fellowship programme is designed to support emerging media artists from diverse backgrounds in Bangladesh, encouraging them to develop independent projects while fostering creativity and experimentation.
Curated by Shohrab Jahan, an interdisciplinary visual artist and educator, the programme will be supported by the Durjoy Bangladesh Foundation, as stated in the release.
Each participant will be paired with a mentor and will create an artwork around a central theme, which will be showcased as part of the festival.
The deadline for applications is October 25.
Since its inception in 2017, Chobi Mela has implemented three fellowship programmes, benefiting 36 artists who have showcased their work in past editions of the festival.
