The police recovered a newborn baby from a shopping bag near the rail track at Mandabagh rail station in Kasba of Brahmanbaria on Monday night.
Akhaura railway police station officer in charge S M Shafiqul Islam said, local people found a shopping bag near the rail track. As they opened the bag, they found a newborn baby covered by polythene.
On information, police went to the spot and recovered the newborn, primarily suspecting that someone left the newborn soon after birth.
