The sports governing body of the country came under the authority of the National Sports Council Act 2018, reducing the number of federations and associations to 52 from 55 under its supervision.
The decisions came as part of the government’s reform initiative for the country’s sporting arena following criticism over the approval of federations and associations by the NSC under political or personal influence.
