BRAC Bank, in collaboration with the Bangladesh Open Source Network, organised a three-day training programme titled ‘Amrai TARA’ to empower 30 promising women entrepreneurs with knowledge, skills and networks needed to expand their businesses.

The training took place at BRAC Learning Centre in Chattogram from September 22 to 24, said a press release.

It focused on capacity building, mentorship, and market access, helping participants enhance their business management skills, strengthen their digital presence and connect with broader networks for growth and collaboration.

BdOSN president Munir Hasan and BRAC Bank territory manager for small business in SME banking Mohammad Zahirul Islam were present as distinguished guests at the closing event.

BRAC Bank additional managing director and SME banking head Syed Abdul Momen stated, ‘Women entrepreneurs are critical for achieving inclusive economic growth. When women entrepreneurs succeed, their communities and the broader economy also benefit. Through this programme, BRAC Bank is providing them with the skills, confidence, and resources needed to sustainably expand their businesses.’

Amrai TARA is BRAC Bank’s flagship initiative for women entrepreneurs, supported by the Gates Foundation.

This initiative aims to create a strong ecosystem for women-led enterprises across Bangladesh by focusing on long-term empowerment through knowledge and skill enhancement, as well as access to finance and markets.

As of now, BRAC Bank has provided skills development training to over 3,000 women entrepreneurs across 20 districts, the release said.
