BRAC Bank’s social welfare initiative ‘Aporajeyo Ami’, in collaboration with the Bangladesh Business and Disability Network (BBDN), hosted a job fair for persons with disabilities, where a total of 46 PWDs secured employment at various companies.
Held at the Krishibid Institution on Thursday, the fair brought together over 600 registered candidates with various educational qualifications and skill levels, who actively participated in interviews and other activities.
A total of 22 employers representing sectors including manufacturing, retail, banking, ICT, textiles, and development received their appointment letters on the spot from the chief guest and special guests present at the daylong fair.
Participating employers included Berger Paints, Urmi Group, Team Group, Shin Shin Group, SAJIDA Foundation, ACI Logistics Limited (Shwapno), MM Ispahani, BRAC Bank, B-SCAN, among others, with 14 companies returning for a consecutive year.
Chief guest Bijoy Krishna Debnath, additional secretary of the Ministry of Social Welfare, said, ‘True development requires equal access to opportunities for every citizen. Initiatives like this job fair show how government, private sector, and enablers can collaborate to make inclusivity a reality.’
Syed Abdul Momen, additional managing director and head of SME banking, BRAC Bank, said, ‘BRAC Bank believes in creating opportunities that go beyond finance. Employment is a powerful means of ensuring dignity, empowerment, and inclusion for individuals with disabilities.’

Ardashir Kabir, chairman, BBDN Board of Trustees and president, Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF), added, ‘This job fair marks real progress towards an inclusive workforce. By opening doors for persons with disabilities, we are empowering individuals and tapping into potential that can drive national growth.’
The fair was also attended by distinguished guests, including Fazlee Shamim Ehsan, BBDN board member and president, BEF; Max Tuñón, country director designate, ILO; and Md Ruhul Amin, chairman of BTEB, expressed support for a more inclusive labour market.
