AAM Habibur Rahman has been elected as the vice-chairman of the board of directors of Hajj Finance Company Limited.
He started his banking career in 1985 as a senior officer at Islami Bank Bangladesh. Later, he was promoted to various positions and served in senior positions including the responsibility of branch head in various branches of Bangladesh.
In continuation of this, he took charge as DMD at Islami Bank in January 2020 and successfully retired in June 2021. Later, he served as DMD at Social Islami Bank from February 2022 to February 2025.
Habibur Rahman passed BSS (Hons) and MSS examinations with distinction from Dhaka University. He obtained the Diplomated Associate of the Institute of Bankers Bangladesh (DAIBB) degree from IBB.
In addition to the first book on Islamic banking in Bangladesh titled Islamic Banking, he has also published books on money laundering.
Habibur Rahman has participated in seminars/trainings on banking held in various countries such as Thailand, Singapore, India, Germany, Sri Lanka and Nigeria.
