Bangladeshi businessman Morshedul Alam Chaklader has been officially appointed as the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Eswatini to Bangladesh.

The appointment was formally conferred by the royal government of Eswatini under the authority of King Mswati III on October 19, 2025, according to a press release.


Bangladesh interim government has granted full diplomatic recognition by issuing the official exequatur, authorising Chaklader to undertake consular duties and represent Eswatini's interests within Bangladesh.

In his new role, Chaklader will play a key part in strengthening economic, cultural, and diplomatic ties between the two nations.

His responsibilities will include facilitating trade missions, promoting tourism, assisting Eswatini’s citizens in Bangladesh, and fostering people-to-people connections.

Upon accepting the role, Morshed Chaklader, a businessman engaged in various sectors, including aviation, banking, real estate, logistics, and community services, expressed his gratitude.

‘I am deeply honoured by the trust placed in me by the Kingdom of Eswatini and profoundly grateful for the recognition from the Bangladesh government. I see this as a unique opportunity to build a lasting bridge of friendship and mutual prosperity between our two nations. I am committed to working tirelessly to explore new avenues of cooperation and to bring Eswatini and Bangladesh closer together,’ he said.
