Forward Mira Jarrar scored a last-gasp equaliser as Bangladesh were held to a 1-1 draw by Jordan in their Group H opener of the AFC Under-17 Women鈥檚 Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers at the Aqaba Stadium in Jordan on Monday night.

Striker Sauravi Akanda Prity gave Bangladesh a terrific start by heading home team-mate Mamoni Chakma鈥檚 free-kick in the very third minute of the game.

Jordan responded by launching a series of attacks; however, they were unable to penetrate Bangladesh鈥檚 solid defence. The score remained unchanged until Jarrar equalised just a minute before the end of regulation time.

Mamoni created a chance from close range in the 70th minute, but an opponent team defender cleared her set piece before forward Alpi Akter dodged her marker, only to send her shot over the bar.

Midfielder Umma Kulsum came close to doubling Bangladesh鈥檚 lead moments later when she gained possession from just above the box before forcing keeper Renad Al Badayneh to clear the ball into safety.

Jordan saved their best for last, as Leen Abuhaweeleh provided Jarrar with a deft through pass in the 89th minute. This allowed the forward to expertly lob the ball over Bangladesh鈥檚 keeper, Meghla Rani Roy.

Bangladesh are scheduled to face Chinese Taipei on 17 October, two days after the hosts, Jordan, play the same team on Wednesday.
