The Bangladesh national women’s football team will take on Indonesia in their first match of the tri-nation friendly series at the Kings Abdulla Stadium in Amman, Jordan, today.

The match is scheduled to begin at 8:00pm Bangladesh Standard Time.

The Bangladesh team had their final training session under English coach Peter Butler at the Jawa Ground in Amman on Friday.

The team arrived in Jordan on Monday and began their training sessions on Tuesday, giving them four days to adapt to the conditions in Amman.

This will be Bangladesh’s first international friendlies since they faced the United Arab Emirates in a two-match series, where they suffered identical 3-1 defeats in both games in Dubai.

Bangladesh captain and defender Afeida Khandakar was optimistic about the first match against Indonesia, with a greater number of senior players in the squad.

‘With the combination of senior and junior players, our team strength is quite better than we played in Dubai…We have been working hard to cope with the conditions here and expecting a good result from this match,’ said Afeida.

‘We had a good training session here, following the coach’s instructions. And ‘yes, we are a strong team now to play the first match tomorrow (Saturday),’ Afeida told the media after the final training session on Friday.

Bangladesh are playing these matches as part of their preparation for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers campaign in Myanmar, will face hosts Jordan in the other match at the same venue on June 3.
