All the tickets for the Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers between Bangladesh and Singapore have been sold out, as the Bangladesh Football Federation’s ticket-selling partner Tickify’s websites showed on Tuesday.
The BFF also confirmed the selling out of tickets through a post on their official Facebook page at around 7:00pm.
The much-anticipated match is scheduled to be held at the National Stadium in Dhaka on June 10, with three Bangladeshi descent expatriate players – Hamza Choudhury from England, Shamit Shome from Canada and Fahamedul Islam from Italy – expected to make their home debuts.
The presence of the three has sparked unprecedented demand for tickets among the country’s football fans. However, neither Tickify nor the BFF provided details on how many tickets were sold.
Tickify launched the sale at midday on Tuesday, shutting to the public a few hours later. The platform resumed selling tickets at 1:00pm and displayed a ‘sold out’ message around 3:00pm.
‘Over 30,000 people purchased tickets in five minutes last night, keeping me and Tikify staff awake at night. Many expatriates from Australia, America, and Uganda purchased tickets for this match,’ BFF competitions committee chairman Golam Gaus told the media on Tuesday.
Previously, fans had a nightmare experience with legions on the website.
The sale of tickets was originally supposed to begin online on May 24 at 12:00pm. However, the sale was delayed by eight hours, infuriating fans as the site remained up for only a few minutes before falling down; and finally, the sale began roughly 46 hours later on Tuesday.
