The other two matches of the day ended in draws as Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society came from two goals down to hold Mohammedan Sporting Club to 3-3 in Mymensingh, while the match between Chittagong Abahani and Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra ended in a 1-1 draw at the Kings Arena in Dhaka.
Bashundhara Kings have already won the league title for the fifth time in a row, leaving the two traditional giants, Abahani and Mohammedan, to compete for second place.
Kings earned an unassailable 40 points from 15 games to clinch the title after a 2-1 win over Mohammedan on May 11.
Following Friday’s games, third-placed Abahani matched second-placed Mohammedan on points, with both now having 29 points from 16 games; however, the latter led the table on goal difference.
Police Football Club were in fourth place with 22 points from 15 games.
