Gazipur Agricultural University held an orientation programme for newly admitted MS and PhD students of the autumn 2025 session at the GAU in Gazipur on Sunday.
The event welcomed 66 MS and 10 PhD students from 13 renowned universities across the country, said a press release.
Presided over by Professor Mohammad Sharif Raihan, director, GAU Student Welfare, vice-chancellor of the university Professor GKM Mustafizur Rahman attended as chief guest while pro-VC Professor M Moynul Haque and treasurer Professor Md Safiul Islam Afrad attended as special guests at the event.
In his welcome remarks, registrar Md Abdullah Mridha introduced the university鈥檚 academic traditions and research prospects, followed by an introduction session among the participants.
Professor Mohammad Saiful Alam, proctor, provided guidance on discipline, responsibility and ethical values, while Professor Mohammad Nazmol Hasan, provost of Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Hall, briefed the students on residential and administrative regulations.
Dean of the faculty of graduate studies, Professor Md Ramiz Uddin Miah, outlined the structure and policies of higher studies and research.
Congratulating the new researchers, the VC emphasised, 鈥楾rue education is not only about learning, it is the cultivation of character, intellect and humanity. A real researcher is one whose work brings meaningful change to society.鈥�
