The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell of Chittagong University began a five-day training titled Foundation Training Programme for Professional Development for teachers recently recruited in various departments and institutes of the university at the conference room of the CU vice-chancellor’s office in Chattogram on Sunday.

CU VC Professor Muhammad Yeahia Akhter was present as chief guest while pro-VC, academic, Professor Mohammad Shamim Uddin Khan, pro-VC, administration, Professor Md Kamal Uddin and acting registrar Professor Mohammad Saiful Islam were present as special guests at the event, said a press release.


IQAC director Professor Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain presided over the event, which was moderated by IQAC additional director Professor Shahadat Hossain.

Congratulating the participating teachers, CU VC said that you had become teachers by passing the highly competitive examination. ‘You have been appointed because you are qualified, now you have to prove it through your work.’

‘A teacher has to take care of various things, including eye contact, body language and lecture delivery. It is possible for a teacher to become a popular teacher if he fulfils the responsibilities assigned to him with sincerity,’ added the VC.
