Islamic University launched electric vehicle shuttle services for the students on the campus in Kushtia on Saturday.

University vice-chancellor Professor Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah inaugurated the four 14-seat electric vehicles on a trial basis.


Officials of the VC office said that the electric shuttles would operate across the campus, charging a passenger Tk 5 fare to cross any distance.  

The vehicles were purchased under an installment plan, through which the university would gain full ownership within two years.

University Grants Commission chairman SMA Faiz, university pro-vice-chancellor Professor M Yeaqub Ali and treasurer Professor M Jahangir Alam, among others, were present on the occasion.
