
Islamic University launched electric vehicle shuttle services for the students on the campus in Kushtia on Saturday.
University vice-chancellor Professor Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah inaugurated the four 14-seat electric vehicles on a trial basis.
Officials of the VC office said that the electric shuttles would operate across the campus, charging a passenger Tk 5 fare to cross any distance. 聽
The vehicles were purchased under an installment plan, through which the university would gain full ownership within two years.
University Grants Commission chairman SMA Faiz, university pro-vice-chancellor Professor M Yeaqub Ali and treasurer Professor M Jahangir Alam, among others, were present on the occasion.
