
The adviser to the primary and mass education ministry of Bangladesh Professor Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar on Sunday said that they were considering reducing the number of holidays in primary level educational institutions.
At a press conference, he also said that they would do it by coordinating with the education ministry.
The press conference was held by the primary and mass education ministry at the secretariat marking International Literacy Day on Monday.
The adviser also said that currently out of 365 days in a year, the number of school days in primary level is 180 days.
‘We need to increase the school days to increase literacy rate,’ he added.
The press conference was attended, among others, by the senior ministry officials.
