The Bangladesh Investment Development Authority, in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency, has launched BanglaBiz, a unified platform designed to provide faster, streamlined support to investors by consolidating key information and services of multiple portals.Â
According to a press release, the One Stop Service portals of all five major investment promotion agencies —BIDA, Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority, Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority, Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, and Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation —are linked under a centralised digital interface.
Investors could also access the Public Private Partnership Authority’s website through the BanglaBiz homepage, via the IPA Summary Cards for all IPAs.Â
The decision to develop BanglaBiz in accordance with investor needs was approved in a meeting of the BIDA governing body, chaired by the chief adviser, in April 2025.
The JICA has provided financial and technical assistance for building the portal, according to the press release.
Key features of BanglaBiz’s initial release included a centralised hub offering information about investment services, direct links to IPA OSS portals, FAQs, and contact details, an interactive tool that guides investors to the most relevant IPA based on their business type, sector, and investment preferences and a secure interface for government officials to monitor service performance, investment trends, and operational metrics across IPAs.
Tomohide Ichiguchi, chief representative of the JICA Bangladesh Office, stated that digital transformation is a technological shift and a strategic imperative for inclusive development.
‘BanglaBiz exemplifies our commitment to co-creating solutions that empower investors and strengthen institutional capacity,’ he added.
Ashik Chowdhury, executive chairman of the BIDA, said that a unified investor portal has been a long-standing demand from both local and foreign businesses.
‘We built BanglaBiz from the perspective of the service seeker, a single digital entry point for anyone looking to start and operate in Bangladesh,’ he added, saying that it would also spark healthy competition among service providers to raise the bar on delivery.
While the initial release focuses on foundational features, BanglaBiz is envisioned to evolve into a fully integrated Investor Single Window Platform (ISWP).
In the upcoming phases, high-impact services such as the Business Starter Package will be introduced with the involvement of additional ministries and agencies, said the press release.Â
Moreover, the introduction of BanglaBiz ID and the digitalisation of Work Permit and Security Clearance processes would enable seamless interoperability across government systems.
The phased approach would also ensure BanglaBiz’s scalable, secure, and responsive position to the investors’ needs.
BanglaBiz has been built on aligning with JICA’s broader mission to foster inclusive economic growth, attract quality investment, and modernize public service delivery.
