Sumon Khan produced an all-round performance as Dhaka Division strengthened their position at the top of the NCL T20 points table with a 28-run win over Rajshahi at the Sylhet International Stadium on Tuesday.

With the win, Dhaka now have seven points from four games, while second-placed Chattogram have five from three.

Opting to bat first, Dhaka posted 150-9 in 20 overs, with captain Mahidul Islam top-scoring with 35 off 20 with four sixes after Ashikur Rahman (22 off 18) and Rayan Rafsan Rahman (32 off 30) made 50 in the opening stand.

Sumon Khan played a cameo of 14 runs consisting of two sixes off five balls to take Dhaka to the 150 mark.

All six bowlers of Rajshahi were among the wickets, as Asaduzzaman Payel and Sabbir Hosan took two wickets each.

The Najmul Hossain Shanto-led Rajshahi were in a decent position with 89-3 in 12.1. However, following Shabbir Rahman鈥檚 dismissal, their fortunes began to deteriorate as they lost four quick wickets for just 14 runs.

SM Meherob Hasan scored 31 off 29 for them, while Habibur Rahman made 23 off 14.

Apart from Najmul, who took 3-10, Taibur Rahman and Sumon Khan were both instrumental with the ball, as they each took two wickets.

Earlier, at the same venue, Aich Mollah, Shadman Islam, and Shohidul Islam were the stars, as Dhaka Metro beat Sylhet by 23 runs.

Opting to bat first, Metro scored 161-3 in the stipulated overs after Mahfijul Islam (18) and Mohammad Naim (36 off 32) added 45 runs for the opening partnership.

However, both fell in quick succession before Shadman Islam and Aich added 96 runs for the third wicket.

Shadman made 49 off 32 with four fours and two sixes, while Aich remained unbeaten on 53 off 33 balls that included six boundaries and two sixes.

Sylhet, with a weaker batting line-up, once again faltered in their chase as they could manage 138-9 in 20 overs.

As many as six batters made at least 16 runs, but none could cross the 24-run mark. There was not even a single 30-run partnership in their innings.

Pacer Shohidul bagged 3-24, while Abu Hider and Maruf Mridha each took two wickets. Rakibul Hasan and Aich also took one each before the latter was adjudged as the player of the match.
