The National League T20 resumes today at the Sylhet International Stadium after it was postponed on September 16 due to inclement weather.
Rajshahi will take on Khulna at 10:00am, while the second match between Dhaka and Rangpur is scheduled at 2:00pm.
The T20 tournament, which was revived last year, started on September 14 in two venues in Rajshahi and Bogura.
But only a five-over match was possible in Rajshahi on the opening day, while the other three matches across two days were called off without any ball bowled.
Rajshahi captain Najmul Hossain Shanto said that the cricketers suffered due to the postponement.
‘This is an excellent tournament. We hoped that this would be better this year. But we had some troubles due to rain. However, the board
should be thanked for the manner they are organising it,’ Shanto told reporters in Sylhet.
Shanto also hoped for a competitive tournament. ‘The nice feeling is, each team here is good and competitive. So every match will be competitive. We are hopeful with our team,’ he said.
Defending champions Rangpur captain Akbar Ali also said that it would be tough for his team to defend the title.
‘We played excellent cricket last year; the tournament was excellent. If the tournament remains the same, then it will be very challenging to defend the championship. But at the same time, we are hopeful that we can play our best cricket,’ said the Under-19 World Cup-winning captain.
