
The Dhaka University celebrated World Pharmacists Day through various programmes on the DU campus on Thursday.
The department of pharmacy and the faculty of pharmacy jointly held the programmes, including a rally, discussion and health counselling for students, said a press release.
On this occasion, a discussion was held at the Pharmacy Lecture Theatre, which was presided over by pharmacy department chairperson Professor Zakir Ahmed Chowdhury.
Chairman of Radiant Pharmaceuticals Limited Md Naser Shahriar Zahedi, dean of the DU faculty of pharmacy Professor Md Salim Reza, Bangladesh Pharmacy Council secretary Muhammad Mahbubul Haque, executive director of marketing and commercials department of Nuvista Pharma Limited Muhammad Ashfaq Uddin and chief marketing officer of Renata Pharmaceuticals Md Tanbir Sajib delivered speeches at the discussion.
The welcome address was delivered by DU pharmaceutical chemistry professor Abu Asad Chowdhury, convener of the World Pharmacists Day Programme.
On the occasion of the day, health services were provided to the female students of Dhaka University in collaboration with Nuvista Pharmaceuticals.
The female students attended the women鈥檚 health camp on the premises of Mukarram Hossain Khandaker Science Building and received various health advices.
Under the supervision of Kumkum Parveen, assistant general manager of the medical branch of Nuvista Pharmaceuticals, gynaecologists Dr Umme Safura Khatun and Dr Ranjita Rani Saha advised the students on various physical and mental problems.
