Bangladesh Industrial Technical Assistance Centre held the certificate and appointment letter distribution programme among the trainees of the 17th batch of Dhaka centre of a project at the BITC office in Dhaka on Thursday.

The title of the project is Expanding BITC鈥檚 activities with emphasis on women in technical training through hands-on training and creating self-employment and alleviating poverty, said a press release.


Presided over by BITC director general Parimal Singha, Ministry of Industries secretary Md Obaidur Rahman was present as chief guest at the event.

Ministry of Industries additional secretary Md Nuruzzaman, SME Foundation MD Anwar Hossain Chowdhury, BITAC project director Md Iqbal Hossain Patwary and BITC Dhaka Centre additional director Md Mazharul Habib were present as special guests at the ceremony.

The importance of technical education is immense in meeting the challenges of building a developed country, said Obaidur Rahman.

He added that through this project of BITAC, a huge opportunity had been created for self-employment of men and women and poverty alleviation.

It is worth noting that 340 trainees participated in the training, out of which 282 were provided job opportunities in PRAN-RFL Group, Matador Group, ACI Group, Art Nature Company Limited and Singer Group.
