The Bangladesh Cricket Board hosted a special value-sharing session titled ‘Share & Care’ at a city hotel in Dhaka on Tuesday, aimed at bridging the gap between stakeholders.

According to a press release issued by the BCB, the session was led by its president, Aminul Islam, and members of the Bangladesh national men’s team, coaching staff, team management, BCB directors and senior officials involved in team operations were present on the occasion.

‘This gathering was aimed at strengthening internal bonds, encouraging direct communication, open and honest dialogue and collectively reflecting on the shared values that guide both the team and the board,’ the press release read.

‘The biggest thing is how much we are able to help the players,’ Aminul told reporters after the meeting.

‘What we are lacking at the moment in order to do that, how we can fill up the gap so that the players can play assuredly on the field [was the goal of this meeting].

‘Today’s session was an important step towards building a stronger, more unified environment for everyone involved in Bangladesh cricket. Hearing directly from our players and team management was incredibly valuable, and we are committed to acting on the insights shared,’ Aminul was quoted as saying in the press release.

‘Everyone sees the hard work we put in on the field every single day, but what many don’t always see is the process behind it,’ said T20 captain Liton Das.

‘For us, it’s about being honest with our effort and trusting the journey. If we stay committed and focused, I believe this dedication will translate into results in the coming days.’

One-day international captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz stressed the importance of facilities and expertise.

‘As players, we benefit the most when we have strong support throughout the year. That’s why it’s important to invest in and develop our local staff, while also making use of the knowledge and resources already available to us,’ he said.

‘When we combine those strengths, we create an environment where players can truly grow and perform at their best.’

Phil Simmons, the head coach of the men’s national team, put the importance of the team in context.

He said, ‘The national team is the flagship of Bangladesh cricket, and with the amount of raw talent here, the potential is huge. Few teams work as hard as this one. But talent and effort must be backed by unity and direction.’

‘We need to align our goals, support each other and keep building together because that’s how long-term success is achieved.’

Aminul said that such gatherings would be held every three months from now on.
