Bangladesh Under-19 men鈥檚 team defeated their South African counterparts by 33 runs in the final to claim the tri-nation series at the Harare Sports Club ground on Sunday.

This was their third consecutive series win since their U-19 Asian Cup triumph, as they beat Sri Lanka (3-2) and South Africa (2-1), earlier this year.

After being put in to bat first, Bangladesh scored 269-5 and wrapped up South Africa for 236, thanks to Rizan Hossan鈥檚 all-round performance, scoring 95 and claiming 5-34.

Rizan added 117 runs with Kalam, who contributed 65, while Md Abdullah (38) and Zawad Abrar (21) also made crucial contributions.

South Africa鈥檚 Bandile Mbatha claimed 2-50.

South Africa made a strong start, but Bangladesh bowlers pulled out a strong show to reduce them to 167-7 at one point. However, Mbatha (29) and Ntando Soni (34) showed some resistance in the end but eventually faltered.

Apart from Rizan, Al Fahad took 3-50 and Shadhin Islam 2-34.

Al Fahad became the highest wicket-taker with 17 wickets in the tournament, while Rizan scored 277, the most runs for Bangladesh.
