Staff Correspondent
Five organisations have been shortlisted following the completion of the Expression of Interest submission stage for appointing a consultancy firm for sports marketing in the Bangladesh Premier League, as stated by the Bangladesh Cricket Board on Monday.
‘Following the BCB’s official invitation issued on July 10, 2025, several leading firms have submitted their EOIs in line with the specified requirements and deadline,’ said BCB in a press release.
Apex Sports Consulting, IMG, Real Impact & Absolute Legends Sports, The IPG Group & Mind Tree Limited, and the Transports Group are the shortlisted organisations.
Among these organisations, IMG was associated with the Indian Premier League before the BCCI took over full control.
Real Impact is a broadcast equipment rental and production company based in India. They have worked with the BCB as well as the Bangladesh Football Federation previously.
According to their website, the UAE-based IPG group has worked with the likes of Sri Lanka Cricket, the Pakistan Cricket Board, and the Asian Cricket Council, among others.
The BCB said that the evaluation of EOIs and subsequent shortlisting would be carried out by the BPL Governing Council, in accordance with the established evaluation criteria and timeline.
Shortlisted firms would be invited to deliver detailed presentations and submit financial proposals, and the process would culminate in the appointment of the selected firm through a formal service agreement, it added.
The next edition of the BPL will see new franchises, as the contract with the previous ones was concluded with the last edition.
The franchise-based T20 tournament was muddied with various controversies in the past.
