The Bangladesh Cricket Board has made a proposal to the Cricket Board of UAE to extend the ongoing two-match T20I series between their national teams by one match, as the Pakistan series is likely to be rescheduled.Ìý

Originally, the UAE series was supposed to finish today with the second match, but if the Emirates Cricket Board accepted the offer, the series should run until May 21.Ìý

The development was confirmed by the in-charge of the cricket operations of BCB, Shahriar Nafees, on Sunday.Ìý

‘We made a proposal to the Emirates Cricket Board according to the chairman of the cricket operations, Najmul Abedeen Fahim. This will give our players an opportunity to gain international experience for one more match,’ Nafees told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· on Sunday.Ìý

‘We should get an update from the ECB by tomorrow. A meeting is supposed to be held with the players today in this regard,’ he added.

The national team was supposed to tour Pakistan for a five-match T20 series after their series against the UAE. But as the Pakistan Super League was rescheduled after it had been postponed due to the conflict between Pakistan and India, the series was all but set to be pushed back.Ìý

But the revised itinerary hasn’t been published yet. From the BCB’s point of view, they have been in the discussions with the players and the coaching staff about going to Pakistan.Ìý

They said that the BCB would leave the decisions to the individuals whether they wanted to go, despite getting the green signal from the government of Bangladesh.Ìý
