Bangladesh left-hand pacer Mustafizur Rahman is set to make his return to the Indian Premier League, having been signed by Delhi Capitals as a replacement player. He will join Delhi Capitals for six crore rupees.
Mustafiz, who went unsold in the IPL auction earlier this year, finds himself back in the league following unforeseen changes in team compositions due to the ongoing India-Pakistan conflict.
Delhi Capitals made the announcement via their official social media channels, welcoming Mustafiz back into their ranks.
‘Mustafizur Rahman is back in after two years! He replaces Jake Fraser-McGurk who is unavailable for the rest of the season,’ stated the franchise.
This marks Mustafiz's second stint with the Capitals, having previously donned their jersey in earlier editions of the tournament.
Known for his deceptive cutters and pinpoint accuracy at the death, Mustafiz brings valuable experience and variety to Delhi's bowling attack as they push for a strong finish to their campaign.
Mustafiz has so far played 57 IPL matches and has 61 wickets against his name. He has played 106 T20Is for Bangladesh, picking up 132 wickets from the same.
