The Bangladesh Cricket Board on Sunday ended the contract of national team bowling coach Andre Adams, with almost 10 months remaining.

The senior manager of media and communications, Rabeed Imam, confirmed the development on Sunday.

Adams, the former New Zealand all-rounder, was appointed by the BCB in February last year. His primary contract was supposed to run until March next year.

But he hasn’t attended the training camp of the national team ahead of the tours of UAE and Pakistan.

Rabeed said that the contract was ended under a special clause.

Adams, who represented the Kiwis 47 times across international formats, had been the bowling coach of the New Zealand women’s team before joining Bangladesh.

It has been learnt that BCB will not be appointing a replacement for Adams soon.

Additionally, Shaun Tait, who recently served as the head coach of Chittagong Kings in the latest edition of the BPL, is being considered for the position previously held by Courtney Walsh, Ottis Gibson, and others before Adams.

Bangladesh will tour the UAE for a two-match T20 series starting on May 17. They are also scheduled to tour Pakistan for a five-match T20 series starting on May 25. However, the tour appears uncertain at this time due to the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.
