The National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery on Thursday discharged Aryan Afif, who was burnt in the plane crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara of Dhaka, after 122 days of treatment.

Acting director of the institute Professor Nasir Uddin revealed the information at a press conference.


Professor Nasir said the entire unit including doctors, nurses and support staff worked day and night to recover Aryan. In the future, his regular follow-up will continue and all necessary medical support will be provided by the institute.

He said capable people of the society need to come forward for Aryan鈥檚 long-term rehabilitation.

Doctors said that Aryan had to undergo 34 surgeries in 122 days. Out of these, he had to be taken to the ICU eight times and was on life support for three days.

Aryan was admitted to the hospital on July 21 with about 40 per cent burns.
